About the Awards

The USC Supply Chain Excellence Awards is a distinguished recognition of best practices and dedication to advancing the field of Supply Chain Management. Each year, USC and several partnering organizations present this honor during the Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit.

The 2017 awards will consist of 4 distinct categories:

  • Lean Excellence
  • Women’s Leadership in Supply Chain
  • 3PL Excellence
  • Supply Chain Digital Transformation

Nomination Process

Nominate a representative from an organization to accept the award at the 2017 Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit held on Aug 9-10.
Eligibility:
  • Recipient must be Director level or higher within the organization
  • All entries should have references to support any claims

Last day to submit nominations:

June 30, 2017

Lean Excellence Award

Presented by USC and ASQ

The Lean Excellence Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding achievement in lean supply chain practices and foster a lean culture within the business.

Entry submissions must include answers to the following three questions and references to support claims.

  1. How do you or your nominee display exceptional commitment to lean practices in the supply chain field? Please provide examples.
  2. What are the key metrics you or your nominee tracked during lean improvement project?
  3. In what ways did lean initiatives affect your organization’s bottom line?

Nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • KPIs and Goals Achieved
    • How well has this organization implemented lean tools and practices that advance business processes and reduce wastes?
  • Lean expertise
    • How well has this organization demonstrated its in-depth knowledge of lean principles?
    • What is the organization’s enduring impact on the supply chain field?

Women’s Leadership in Supply Chain Award

The Women’s Leadership in Supply Chain Award recognizes women in supply chain roles who demonstrate outstanding leadership, a champion of diversity & inclusion, and engage with the local community.

  1. How do you or your nominee display outstanding thought leadership and/or exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusion in the supply chain field? Please provide examples.
  2. In what ways do you or your nominee encourage people of all backgrounds and experiences to succeed in supply chain careers?

Nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Accomplishments
    • Has this individual demonstrated excellence in the field of supply chain management?
    • Has this individual built teams or businesses that are illustrative of diverse characteristics, cultures, and backgrounds?
  • Influence
    • Has this individual actively promoted diversity in ways that benefit professionals to ensure supply chain career growth and success?

3PL Excellence Award

Presented by USC, Port of Los Angeles, and Port of Long Beach

The 3PL Excellence Award recognizes organizations that provide exceptional value as a third party logistics provider through customer service, reliability, and industry expertise.

  1. How do you or your nominee display exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction? Please provide examples.
  2. What are the innovative practices that are adopted in your or your nominee’s organization?
  3. Explain how you or your nominee has adopted innovative technologies to better serve customers?

Nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Innovation
  • Reliability

Presented by USC and EY

The Supply Chain Digital Transformation Award recognizes organizations that leverage digital technology to disrupt and improve supply chain performance.

  1. What new technology has you or your nominee adopted in the last year?
  2. How has this technology impacted the organization’s supply chain management?
  3. How has this technology improved the organization’s bottom line?

    • What is the measurable impact of adopting new technology?
    • How have processes been improved by adopting new technology?
  • Innovation
    • How unique is the application of this new technology?
