Pierre Theodore. MD, is vice president of medical devices at Johnson and Johnson with a focus on early stage technology development. Theodore also is a health sciences associate professor of surgery and the Van Auken Endowed Chair in Thoracic Surgery at The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine/

Theodore has engaged in innovation domains including informatics technology, surgical oncology and post-surgical rehabilitation and founded and served in leadership roles in several start-up companies devoted to health information technology and integrated care. He’s a co-inventor of several medical devices and drug delivery platforms.

Theodore has served as an advisor to numerous venture capital and private equity firms in Silicon Valley—helping to guide strategy in healthcare investments across the digital health, biotech and medical device sectors. He’s a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserve Medical Officer Corps, holding the rank of Commander. Theodore holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton and an MD from the University of Virginia; and completed a residency and fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
