Nick Fafoutis is executive vice president of government trade for American President Lines, LLC (APL), a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions.
APL has been a trusted partner to the U.S. government for ocean transportation and in-country logistics for nearly 175 years. With its fleet of nine U.S. flagged vessels, the company offers secure and efficient services to key foreign military locations, which include four weekly U.S. flag services linking North America to Asia, the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East and Guam.
Mr. Fafoutis has more than 30 years of extensive experience in international container shipping, including sales and operations management leadership roles with P&O Nedlloyd and Damco.
Mr. Fafoutis joined CMA CGM in 2009 as the regional vice president of sales, West Coast. He later transitioned to the position of vice president of import sales.
In 2015, Mr. Fafoutis assumed the role of senior vice president and chief commercial officer responsible for sales and marketing activity for CMA CGM America.
In 2021, Mr. Fafoutis was appointed executive vice president of government trade responsible for all commercial and government activities for APL.
Mr. Fafoutis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California. He also holds a Master of Business Administration, Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach. He is based in the Washington, D.C. area.
