Veli has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability consulting and environmental management. She is an accomplished sustainability practitioner with broad international experience. She has assisted numerous clients from a variety of sectors including oil and gas, chemical, mining, utilities, retail and apparel, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing with the development and implementation of EHS and sustainability strategies and programs.
Veli has supported a wide range of client organizations with embedding sustainability across their value chains and products. Veli brings superb technical knowledge in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance and management, as well as substantial experience in product stewardship, supply chain sustainability, strategic planning, organizational development, stakeholder management, and growth initiatives. Veli leads the EY Americas Climate Change and Sustainability Services Practice supporting clients to achieve their sustainability goals, manage sustainability risks and innovation. She is responsible for the practice growth in the Americas including the US, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America.
Prior to joining Ernst & Young, LLP, Veli was the Global Sustainability Practice Director for a leading global environmental engineering and consulting firm. In a 2013 study of the US sustainability consulting market by Verdantix, an independent analyst firm, she was recognized for her leadership and strategic vision for the growth of this firm’s practice.
Additional work experience includes being the US Western division Sustainability Practice Leader of a global consulting firm where she was actively involved in client account management and engagements, team management and recruiting, and the development of strategy and knowledge communities. Veli developed the firm’s proprietary sustainability business solutions methodology and established the company’s Integrated Water Sustainability global practice.
