Biography

Dr. Subhro Mitra, a Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of North Texas-Dallas, has been honored with the Distinguished Educator’s Service Award by The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA). This prestigious award acknowledges Dr. Mitra’s outstanding dedication and contributions to the field of transportation and supply chain management education and research. His areas of expertise include freight flow modeling, supply chain security, asset management, life-cycle cost analysis, logistics network optimization, and facility location analysis. Dr. Mitra has been actively engaged in both national and international conferences, serving as a keynote speaker in roundtables and symposiums. Additionally, he has played a pivotal role as Principal Investigator in numerous externally funded research projects, receiving support from Federal and State agencies as well as private companies. Among his notable research endeavors are the development of a Discrete Mode Choice Model for the Air Cargo Industry, an Integrated Supply Chain Model for Urban Freight Planning, and creating a GIS Multimodal Capacity Model for the Northern Tier Freight Corridor.
