Rebecca Webber is the Asset Risk Manager for Amazon, managing global property and business interruption risk and claims. Rebecca is a tactical and strategic technical leader with over 16 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry. She has boots-on-the ground experience managing and consulting on preparation, response, and recovery from damages caused by major events, including Hurricanes Ike, Irene, Harvey, and Irma, 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, 2011 Thailand Floods, and dozens of structure and wildland fires. Rebecca leads teams in identifying the critical path for minimizing operational downtime, while managing safety, legal, reputational, and financial risks during recovery efforts.
Rebecca joined Amazon in 2012, expanding her responsibilities in 2017 to include management of the global property insurance programs, property claims, and risk engineering program. Rebecca’s team provides fire and natural hazard risk assessments and mitigations during site selection, construction, and crisis response for Amazon locations globally.
Prior to Amazon, Rebecca spent over 10 years with FM Global as a Loss Prevention Engineer and Senior Claims Adjuster managing property and business interruption losses, including as a member of the Catastrophe Team. Rebecca has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington (UW) and is a licensed Fire Protection Engineer for the state of Washington.
