David Reich serves as Director of Economic Infrastructure for Mayor Eric Garcetti. In this role, Reich oversees Port and Airport policy for the Mayor and liaisons to the executive teams at the Harbor Department and Los Angeles World Airports. These departments manage the Western Hemisphere’s largest container port, the Port of Los Angeles, and the world’s fifth largest airport, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Prior to joining the Garcetti administration in January 2016, Reich was a Business Development Manager at Sylmar, CA-based Quallion, a manufacturer of lithium ion batteries for aerospace and medical applications. From 2010 to 2013 he worked in the administration of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, on port, airport, and other economic development issues. From 2002-2007, Reich served in the U.S. Navy as an intelligence officer. Reich holds a B.A. in History from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
