Noemi Romero leads team of +90 staff accountable for all Supply Chain function activities within Amgen’s multi-product Puerto Rico facility, including support to six manufacturing plants, oversight of GMP warehouse, and supply to three regions, two sister Sites, and third parties. She heads Site’s international expansion program, including Site readiness for first supply of products to country; 85 product/country launches timely and successfully launched since the inception of the program.
She also oversees Site’s procurement process, including ~$130M of annual purchases and management of ~$80M in raw materials inventory. She leads supply planning function for the Site, including product end-to-end lifecycle management, readiness of new product introductions, development of Manufacturing Production Schedules and Resources Planning, and S&OP related activities.
She oversees management of warehousing operations (~10,000 pallet positions of controlled areas), shipments to +35 countries, import/export compliance, and foreign trade zone program. She Sponsors and champions several operational excellence initiatives that have significantly improved safety record, freight costs, inventory flow, and overall production-to-distribution cycle times to international markets. She mentors staff across Amgen’s network on professional development topics; treasurer and co-founder of Puerto Rico Chapter for AWIN (Amgen Women’s Interactive Network).
