Dave Harriss is Managing Partner at Heroic Maritime, a service-disabled, veteran-owned advisory firm built to de-risk supply chains.  Heroic specializes in cold chain and high-value agricultural products, and clients include international 3PLs, Ports, BCOs, Grower-shippers, Carriers, Commercial Real Estate, and Sovereign/Private Equity.

Dave previously served as Chief Commercial Officer for an international terminal operator responsible for the commercial strategy and related development of the organization’s marketing, sales, new product development and customer experience.

Highlights of his commercial career include Managing Director for Maersk Line’s chartering and ship management business; setting up military and NGO hospital supply chains for Ebola response in West Africa; leading the remote response team for the Maersk Alabama piracy event as depicted in the movie “Captain Phillips”

Mr. Harriss is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and served as a Navy intelligence officer with multiple combat tours.

He holds a BS in Marine Transportation, a Master of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Management.  He makes his home in Newport News, Virginia with his wife, Sara and four children.
